Urbana, IL – Avatar Press, Inc. announced today that its debut comics, which include Pandora #1, Donna Mia #1, Silent Rapture #1, and variants of those books have completely sold out – and that greater-than-anticipated printing damages have caused slight allocations.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank retailers and fans for making our launch a great success,” says Avatar Press Editor-in-Chief William A. Christensen. “The retailers I have spoken to have been extremely supportive of our efforts, and I feel that as we get these initial books into readers’ hands, the word will begin to spread through the retail community: Avatar is not just another indy publisher. We intend to publish quality comics, on time, every month.”
“We apologize for the tight availability of these initial books, but our commitment to quality has made slight allocations unavoidable,” Christensen continues. “We have taken steps to address the difficulties that occurred. However, there are no plans to go back to press on these issues in the foreseeable future.”
Beyond their current mini-series, the three Avatar launch titles will all return in a big way throughout 1997. Pandora returns in Pandora #0, to be available in the January ‘97 Previews for product shipping in March. Donna Mia receives a special Giant Size mini-series debuting in the February ‘97 Previews for product shipping in April. Silent Rapture is scheduled to return in a special #0 issue to ship Summer ‘97. As always, watch Previews for current ordering information on these and all other Avatar Press titles.
