Complete December information is now live and as you’ve seen from the updates over the past week it’s another great month from Avatar Press. Here’s the lowdown:
- Warren Ellis’ Bad Signal – Warren is one of the most influential writers in comics and Bad Signal gives you a glimpse at what he’s thinking about. This is a collection of missives from his widely-read email list of the same name, profusely illustrated by frequent Ellis collaborator Jacen Burrows.
- Warren Ellis’ Scars – Ellis and Burrows continue their eagerly-anticipated crime comic book mini-series. Preview material from this series has been winning acclaim around the net and at conventions everywhere.
- Warren Ellis’ Strange Killings: The Body Orchard – Ellis and collaborator Mike Wolfer conclude the Body Orchard saga this month. Hard, fast, smart, relentless… and of course, strange. This is a comic that just doesn’t let up, and it’s brilliantly executed by Ellis and Wolfer. Some of the smoothest comic craftmanship I’ve seen since Miller and Mazzucchelli on Batman: Year One.
- Garth Ennis and John McCrea’s Dicks 2 – Ennis and McCrea are at it again… Hilarious and irreverent from cover to cover. Ennis calls the Dicks his personal favorite characters of any he’s ever created or written (and that’s saying something), and it’s easy to see why.
- Jungle Fantasy: Interior artwork by Al Rio and Juan Jose Ryp, and the beginning of a new regular series from Avatar Press. This is Al’s long-awaited return to Avatar interiors, doing the kind of work that he does best. We’ve commented previously on the amazingly detailed work of Juan Jose Ryp, and as his Jungle Fantasy work continues to come in it surpasses even those lofty expectations. This book features the return of Avatar fan favorite Fauna, as well as the introduction of several new Avatar characters.
