Uber Vol 1 Enhanced HC to Include 160 Pages of Extras

Kieron Gillen and Caanan White’s Uber has been one of the biggest new series of 2013. ?With its dark vision of the super human escalation of World War II, fans have been flocking to the fledgling series to see where the unique story goes.

In October, Avatar Press will release an “Enhanced” Hard Cover collection of the first chapter of the series that is exclusive to comic shops. ?This 336 page tome includes the entire 176 page first chapter (Uber #0-5) and an incredible 160 pages of extras. ?Included in the extras will be behind the scenes interviews, pages of original pencil art, notes and commentary from Kieron Gillen on the series development, and a massive cover gallery. ? The collection is limited to 5000 copies and is the only collected edition to ship this year. ?There is also a 350 copy Remarqued edition that includes Gillen and White’s autographs and a unique original sketch by the artist.

Bloody Disgusting Gives Skin Trade 4/5 Skulls

George RR Martin’s Skin Trade story is a World Fantasy Award winning tale that combines the best of crime noir and old fashioned werewolf mystery into a modern horror masterpiece. ?The comic adaptation of the story, scripted by Daniel Abraham and drawn by Mike Wolfer, has been getting great reviews as fans and critics alike have enjoyed Martin’s unique story.

This week, the folks at Bloody Disgusting reviewed the latest issue of the series and gave the work 4 out of a possible 5 skull rating. ?They further credit Mike Wolfer with some of the “best work of his career,” which is high praise for an artist who has been turning in terror filled work for over two decades. ?Skin Trade #1 & #2 are available now from local comic shops everywhere.

Uber Gets 5 Out of 5 Rating From Horror Comic Round Up

Decapitated Dan does a great job each with giving us reviews of the latest horror comics on Comic Related’s Horror Comic Roundup. ?The latest review of Uber #4 has high praise from horror master Dan and his crew of creepy crawlies. ?But don’t take my word for it, here it is straight from the monster’s mouth:

Uber4regDecapitated Dan:?Everytime I think this series can’t get any better, a new issue comes out and it gets better. I bet I sound like a broken record at this point but man Gillen and White just deliver one hell of a comic book issue after issue. #4 really starts to get the ball rolling forward, as now both sides of the war have super soldiers. I absolutely loved the scene where a soldier with the new powers tried to lift a car over his head a little too soon into his development. Then when the issue comes close to the end, they deliver the reader a scene that shows the full potential of what these soldiers are becoming, and it is jaw dropping. The more I think about it, the clearer it becomes, Uber is the front runner for Best New Series of 2013. This is one book you should not be missing. -?Dying Breath 5.0 out of 5.0
