Retailers to Throw NOTLD Halloween Parties Today

Halloween comes but once a year. Halloween on a Wednesday (aka New Comic Day)? The next one won’t be until 2018 and the next one after in 2029. To celebrate this rare combination of geek-out fun, many comic shops are hosting events. The best ones are tying in to Avatar’s new on-going zombie series, Night of the Living Dead: Aftermath, since the first issue launches on Halloween!

For example, Collector’s Corner in Baltimore, Maryland, is hosting an event starting at 5pm which will include a costume contest, free comics and toys giveaways, a zombie SFX artist giving free zombie makeovers, an artist giving free zombie sketch caricatures, as well as a screening of the 1968 Night of Living Dead classic cult movie!

Comic Book Jones in NYC will be hosting a costume contest, as well as giving away comics, candy and Night of the Living Dead promos.

Third Eye Comics, with two locations in Maryland, will be giving away a free Night of the Living Dead TPB if you come dressed as a zombie and purchase a copy of Night of the Living Dead: Aftermath #1.

Jet Pack Comics in Rochester, New Hampshire, will also be giving away tons of Night of the Living Dead freebies.

Night of the Living Dead: Aftermath Sneak Preview

Will Halloween be the Day of the Undead at your local comic shop?

This year, Halloween falls on comic fans’ favorite day of the week: Wednesday (aka “New Comic Day”). Avatar Press feels there is no better time to launch their new on-going series,?NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: AFTERMATH to help celebrate with some?ghoulish?fun!
