World Champion Judah Friedlander, stand-up comedian and star of 30 Rock and American Splendor, visited the Avatar Press booth at the New York Comic Con this past weekend. He met Mike Wolfer, the artist who created a zombie version of Friedlander?in the 2008 NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD ANNUAL.
Friedlander posed for a picture with Wolfer (right) and Avatar Press E-I-C William Christensen (left), then tweeted this a couple of days later:

Friedlander and Wolfer?met several years ago at a horror convention at a magazine vendor’s booth. Simultaneously inquiring about vintage magazines, the two struck-up a conversation. Since Friedlander is?the “World Champion,” Wolfer offered to honor his outstanding achievements in everything by awarding him comic book posterity.
He appeared as a supporting character in the 2008 NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD ANNUAL, and he was also included with fellow comedians Brian Posehn and Patton Oswalt on the wraparound cover illustration for NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: NEW YORK.
Wolfer admitted Friedlander’s?best-selling self-help book, “How To Beat Up Anybody,” has also gotten him out of many a scrape with ninjas and Bigfoot.
Corey Taylor of Slipknot gets Garth Ennis to sign his Streets of Glory at NYCC 10/13/12
Frontman for the bands Slipknot and Stone Sour, Corey Taylor, is a huge Garth Ennis fan. Attending the New York Comic Con on Saturday to promote his own new comic, House of Gold and Bones, he took time to make his way to the Avatar Press booth to meet one of his favorite creators, Garth Ennis. “I love Crossed,” Taylor said while shaking the hand of Ennis. The metal rock star went on to tell the author how much he enjoyed reading his Avatar work and got a Streets of Glory trade paperback signed for his personal collection. As Taylor walked away from the booth, he was smiling ear to ear like any true comic fan meeting a comic idol. Taylor is ranked on?Hit Parader’s?Top 100 Metal Vocalists of All Time.
