Avatar Press is a comic book publisher which has carved a niche for itself as a company that pushes the boundaries between mainstream and independent with titles such as Alan Moore's The Courtyard and Magic Words, Warren Ellis' Strange Killings and Scars, Garth Ennis and John McCrea's irreverent private eye cult classic Dicks, Joe R. Lansdale and Tim Truman's Dead Folks, David Quinn and Tim Vigil's 777: The Wrath, company owned characters such as Pandora and The Ravening, licensed hits such as Frank Miller's Robocop and Stargate SG1, and long-running anthology title Threshold, among numerous other titles -- including comics for mature readers, and other audiences. A company that has established itself as one of the cornerstones of the American indy comic book scene over the past six years, Avatar has published over 350 comic books since 1997.

STARGATE SG-1: 2004 CONVENTION SPECIAL WRAPAROUND TEST PRINT PURPLE FOIL EDITION

Special edition comic book discovered, offered here for the first time!  Retail on these is $49.99, but we are offering them directly to the fans that made the show a hit for just $29.99.  We are expecting a complete sell-out, so please order at your earliest convenience.  Test prints are done by the printer to make sure that all the alignment is OK on the foil press and that the foil is adhering properly on the front cover of the comic book before they print our normal print run.  These are usually created on overprinted copies of the same cover that will be foiled later on, and then discarded by the printer.

What makes this comic book so special is that the foil is on the wraparound cover, not the standard cover, and in special purple foil, which we have never used before.  There are no other foil editions of the wraparound cover.  The net result is this is one of the most limited Stargate comic books ever!  This edition is limited to just 150 copies.  Each copy ships with a certificate of authenticity.

You can order the Stargate SG-1: 2004 Convention Special Wraparound Test Print Purple Foil Edition at:

Although this item may never be available in stores due to the limited quantity available, your local retailer should have a number of other Stargate SG-1 regular & special editions in stock.  Please ask your local retailer what he has available.  If you can't find Stargate SG-1 comics locally, you can also get them at:
