Avatar Press is a comic book publisher which has carved a niche for itself as a company that pushes the boundaries between mainstream and independent with titles such as Alan Moore's The Courtyard and Magic Words, Warren Ellis' Strange Killings and Scars, Garth Ennis and John McCrea's irreverent private eye cult classic Dicks, Joe R. Lansdale and Tim Truman's Dead Folks, David Quinn and Tim Vigil's 777: The Wrath, company owned characters such as Pandora and The Ravening, licensed hits such as Frank Miller's Robocop and Stargate SG1, and long-running anthology title Threshold, among numerous other titles -- including comics for mature readers, and other audiences. A company that has established itself as one of the cornerstones of the American indy comic book scene over the past six years, Avatar has published over 350 comic books since 1997. |

July Avatar Press Newsletter
The July Avatar Press Newsletter went out last week, and those subscribed to that
list got the inside word on a number of upcoming projects. Brian Pulido, Mike
Wolfer, Juan Jose Ryp, and Daniel HDR commented on what's in store for September
in the Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre mini-series.
Some major October horror launches were also revealed, including Jason X, Species,
and Escape of the Living Dead. If you didn't get the email, you can see what you
missed in the July
Avatar Press Newsletter, and you can also subscribe
while you're there so you'll be sure to get the word next time around.

Avatar Press Now In Stores -- week of July 13
This week looks to be a skip week in many local areas for brand new Avatar Press
releases. However, if you've been expecting one of your Avatar favorites to come
out in your area, you may want to check in with your local store to verify --
it is not uncommon for indy release arrivals to vary by a week or so from Diamond's
official release-list date. Ask your retailer about the Avatar Press titles that
interest you. Although many retailers make the very latest brand-new releases
for the week available on Wednesday in the comic book industry, some may put out
restocked items, trade paperback releases, and other items at other times as well,
so you may want to stop by and check 'em out anyway -- here's a list of all of
the recent Avatar Press releases. This week looks to be a skip week in many local
