Matt MartinWell known for his detailed line work and sense of design, writer/artist Matt Martin made his professional debut in 1993 with his creator-owned series Vortex for small press publisher Hall of Heroes and quickly developed a slick, intricate style that has made him a fan favorite on the indy scene and beyond. Martin's best-known work to date has been his creator-owned title Snowman, a supernatural tale of an indian warrior returning in the form of a creature of ice and snow to take revenge against the white man for the brutal murder of his wife. With Avatar Press, Martin has done both Snowman and Vortex mini-series, numerous covers, several stories in Avatar anthology Threshold including the Snowman spin-off character August, the recent Coven: Dark Sister mini-series, and the Alan Moore-scripted second tale from Alan Moore's Glory #2. Martin is also an inker of note having inked several high profile David Finch covers among others for Avatar. Martin's upcoming works include an as-yet unannounced mini-series featuring a popular Avatar Press character, and the surprise return of another popular character in a landmark issue of another Avatar title. |
