Avatar Press is a comic book publisher which has carved a niche for itself as a company that pushes the boundaries between mainstream and independent with titles such as Alan Moore's The Courtyard and Magic Words, Warren Ellis' Strange Killings and Scars, Garth Ennis and John McCrea's irreverent private eye cult classic Dicks, Joe R. Lansdale and Tim Truman's Dead Folks, David Quinn and Tim Vigil's 777: The Wrath, company owned characters such as Pandora and The Ravening, licensed hits such as Frank Miller's Robocop and Stargate SG1, and long-running anthology title Threshold, among numerous other titles -- including comics for mature readers, and other audiences. A company that has established itself as one of the cornerstones of the American indy comic book scene over the past six years, Avatar has published over 350 comic books since 1997. |

Well-Regarded Industry Commentators Agree: ROBOCOP rules
Some exceptional buzz across the net has quickly made the Frank Miller's ROBOCOP pages one of our most popular sections ever. We'll keep that section updated with the latest preview art and info -- including an upcoming official press release with quotes from Frank Miller, Steven Grant, Juan Jose Ryp, and William Christensen -- so check back soon for more Robocop goodness.
There's also been alot of interest in next year's ROBOCOP: Simple Machines mini-series by incredibly talented rising star artist Jeremy Rock and well-regarded industry commentator, highly talented new writer, and fictional-robot expert Nick Locking. We'll have more info on that series in the months to come, but for now here's some promo art for that series.

Avatar Press Now In Stores -- Week of April 16
After a huge week last week for new comics from Avatar Press, it looks like this week may be a skip week in many local areas for brand new Avatar Press releases. If you've been expecting one of your Avatar favorites to come out in your area, you may want to check in with your local store to verify -- it is not uncommon for indy releases to vary by a week or so from Diamond's official release-list date. Ask your retailer about the Avatar Press titles that interest you. Although many retailers make the very latest brand-new releases for the week available on Wednesday in the comic book industry, some may put out restocked items, trade paperback releases, and other items at other times as well, so you may want to stop by and check 'em out anyway -- here's a list of all of the recent Avatar Press releases.
